This is an amazing post and so close to my own thoughts about Facebook, etc. I find I spend more time on there making “quick hits” than really talking to people in person anymore. It is strange to know that someone I went to high school with has a tatoo, someone else is getting divorced, etc. and I haven’t actually seen them in years & maybe I don’t really want to anyway. I agree that it will be a challenge for our kids to develop deeper relationships with people because this is a huge form of communication now. I’m holding mine off from it as long as possible buy I know eventually I will have to succumb to the inevitable. I only hope that I’m giving them enough other things to show them how vibrant life and other people can be in comparison to viewing everything on a screen.

No one makes me laugh the way you do.

But I don’t always take your suggestions. For example, instead of going to Sal’s for dinner last night, I decided to throw on some slacks and a blouse and bring the gang over to Chipotle. It felt like a balm, or an ointment, being in the bosom of my family.

For years I didnt get involved with FB, thinking that if someone really wanted to contact “me” they could google me and find me. I also thought, I am no longer friends with these people for a reason…just as you said. I did break down a yr ago and now I am like the rest…but every now and then I think about just turning my page off..those that want to stay “friends” with me, now have my contact info, right?!? It is nice though to throw up a picture of yourself that actually looks good, doesnt it…LOL!!
